Ben Crane penalized eight strokes for stickers on clubs

“That’s golf.”

That was the quote from Ben Crane who was penalized eight stokes by the Web.com Tour for having stickers on two of his clubs at the Albertson’s Boise Open.

According to a report from ESPN:

Crane, 41, received two separate four-stroke penalties for carrying a driver and a 6-iron that had “shot-sticker” decals on the clubs, which he uses as a training aid as part of Trackman data. Crane had not used either club, otherwise he would have been disqualified.

Crane seems to be taking it in stride.

Crane has eight career wins as a pro which includes five titles on the PGA Tour. His last PGA win was back in 2014 at the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Players are being penalized for stickers, but anchoring your putter is still being ignored elsewhere in the world of golf.
