Brooks Koepka holds off Dustin Johnson to win second consecutive PGA Championship

Brooks Koepka held off a surging Dustin Johnson to win his second consecutive title at the PGA Championship.
Koepka started the day with a seven shot lead which he let dwindle down to just one shot after four straight bogeys on 11, 12, 13 and 14.
However, Johnson then made a bogey of his own on 11 to allow Koepka some breathing room and he eventually held off Johnson by two strokes.

The win at Bethpage Black makes Koepka the first player ever to successfully defend titles at both the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open in his career.

This was also his fourth major title in his last eight starts in a major which makes him just the fifth player in the modern era to win four or more majors in a span of eight starts. Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are the others.

With the win, Koepka will surpass Johnson to become the No.1 player in the official world golf rankings as well as No.2 in Fed Ex Cup points.
